Marmaton Valley (8M-II, 1-0) opened up the 2023 season with a 50-0 victory over Oswego after losing this game 63-34 in 2022.
MV blanked Oswego 50-0 in three quarters of play. They look to be a team to watch in the 8-man ranks of Southeast Kansas. Brayden Lawson had 299 yards passing (4 TD) and a rushing TD, while teammate Jaedon Granere had 13 catches for 163 yards (3 TD). Brevyn Campbell had 14 tackles on the defense. Tyler Lord had an interception in the game.
Led by HC Max Mickunas the Wildcats will travel to Yates Center in week number two of the season. Last season MV finished with a 4-5 record but we feel like they are a team in 8M-II to circle in Southeast Kansas.
