Labette Bank Athlete of the Month: Hunter Boone

The Labette Bank Athlete of the Month from its coverage area is Prairie View High School senior running back and linebacker Hunter Boone.

Boone helped his team to the deepest postseason run since 1970 as the Buffalos made it to the round of eight in 3A football. PV, led by head coach Kyle Littrell, finished 10-1 on the season, including a 5-0 mark in the Pioneer League. Boone picked up several postseason honors this year which included Sports in Kansas Top 100 Seniors, Sports in Kansas All-Senior Team, First Team Topeak Capital Journal All-State Running Back and Top 33 All-Classes. Boone also picked up postseason honors from the Wichita Eagle. Boone is also currently ranked #3 at 195 pounds in Class 3A wrestling. 

Congrats to Prairie View and Hunter Boone on an outstanding season in 2019.

Labette Bank Athlete of the Month Nomination Criteria

-Athlete or Team (girl(s)or boy(s)) must play in the CNC, Pioneer, SEK, or TRL Leagues in Kansas.

-Selection will be based on the play of that athlete over the period of that month. All stats and info must be provided. 

-All nominations are accepted with selection process being handled and finalized only by @sportsinkansas. Coaches are encouraged to nominate their own athletes or athletes from opposing schools. 

-Nominations MUST be emailed. Please email Chet Kuplen, CEO/Founder of Sports in Kansas, at sportsinkansas@gmail.com during the last seven days of the month to nominate your athlete!
