Autumn Sands, 14 year old freshman from Parsons, shattered records last weekend in the state powerlifting meet.
Sands was named lifter of the meet and overall state champion in the 140 pound class.
She had a squat of 280 which took state runner-up and was a state record before a girl from Wichita Trinity got 285 right after Autumn’s 280 pound lift.
In the bench press, she took first as the state champion with a lift of 155 pounds. Her power clean of 200 pounds also took first in the state at 140 pounds and became a new Kansas state record. Her overall weight total of 635 pounds was also a state record.
Congrats to Autumn on a fantastic freshman season in powerlifting. Labette Bank is a proud supporter of high school athletics in Southeast Kansas.
