The Nemaha Central Volleyball team opened up the 2021 season over the weekend with a tournament win with wins over Valley Heights, Marysville, Chapman, Royal Valley and Shawnee Mission West to capture the Marysville tournament championship and open up the season 5-0. On Tuesday Nemaha took their first lost of season against Hiawatha but defeated Royal Valley to open up the 2021 campaign at 6-1.
Nemaha Central is the preseason #5 team in the state according to the latest KVA rankings released last week. Defending champion in 3A Sabetha is ranked #4.
