You’ve been selected as a Player of the Year in your classification (offense or defense) for the 2022 football season from Sports in Kansas – First off, congrats on the huge honor as others aren’t getting these notices so please keep this confidential and off social media until we release this coming weekend. You are invited/strongly encouraged to attend the photo/video shoot in Emporia on Tuesday November 29th 2022. Sorry for the short notice, but we have a short turnaround from state football championships to getting this released over the weekend of December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Also, as you will see below this is to remain confidential and OFF of social media until we release it. I need an email address from you ASAP (email all of the following to: sportsinkansas@gmail.com) so we can send over an advertising packet for your parents for your capsule/bio and information upon arrival in Emporia. Please provide your cell phone, your parents/guardians cell, your email address and your parents email address
The Sports in Kansas photo-video shoot/media day for Players of the Year/Coach of the Year by classification will be in Emporia, Kansas on the campus of Emporia State University on Tuesday November 29th, 2022, arriving at 11:15 am-11:30am along with other scheduled events below.
Please RSVP by Monday 11/28 by 8 am by emailing sportsinkansas@gmail.com – Each athlete honored is permitted two guests (guardians/parents or coach, you don’t have to bring someone if you don’t want) and lunch will be provided courtesy of Sports in Kansas. Each coach of the year honored is permitted one guest and lunch will be provided. If you cannot be here please contact Bethany Bowman by text ASAP at 620-794-3512 so we can get proper stuff from you for your bio/capsule, last year every single athlete and coach were in attendance, we hope to have the same this year.
Schedule of Events
11:15 am: Arrival time to Emporia State University – Welch Stadium – Meet and Greet introduction w/ Chet Kuplen & Bethany Bowman. We should have several parking passes with us in the concourse/press box.
11:30 am: Athlete will receive lunch at 11:30 am courtesy of Sports in Kansas at Welch Stadium in the concourse and press box.
12/12:15pm: Change into football uniforms
What to bring: Your full home football uniform – cleats, helmets, shoulder pads, jersey, pants etc. You can wear street clothes to the event and can change at the event after lunch. This photo and video interviews will be seen by thousands – so be sure to dress in your appropriate home uniform as you would look in a game (if white is your home uniform then wear darker uni)
12:30 pm-12:50 pm: Award presentations w/ Chet Kuplen and Bethany Bowman. Parents/Guardians can sit in the bleachers. Will do on the field/track if weather cooperates. Pictures can be taken just not posted until after December 2, 3 , 4th.
12:50 pm-2pm: Photo Shoot and Interviews w/ Bethany Bowman & Chet Kuplen of Sports in Kansas will start at 12:15 pm and go to 2 pm at the latest at Welch Stadium (Emporia State University)
THIS CANNOT BE RELEASED TO ANYONE OR ON SOCIAL MEDIA AT ALL – THIS IS CONFIDENTIAL AND OTHERS ARE NOT GETTING THIS NOTICE. THE TEAM WILL BE RELEASED FROM SPORTS IN KANSAS OVER THE WEEKEND OF DECEMBER 2nd, 3rd, 4th. ONCE IT IS RELEASED FROM SPORTS IN KANSAS ONLINE AND SOCIAL MEDIA THEN IT CAN BE RELEASED.
Note for Parents/Coach/Guardians: Each athlete can have two people with them (in addition to themselves, that will also be provided a meal. Please RSVP by text or email the number of people (including yourself) and who you are bringing to Bethany Bowman – 620-794-3512- by Monday at 8 am.). If more people are coming that is fine but only two will be provided a meal in addition to the athlete (contact Bethany Bowman if you have questions on this). You can hang around the complex while the event is going on. You can take photos for keepsakes as long as they are not posted on social media (not even snapchat) until we release it the following weekend (that will defeat the purpose of the event and what we are doing to release it) until after the team is released from Sports in Kansas on the weekend of December 2,3,4, Advertising info for parents/family/booster clubs/businesses that want to run an ad on the players capsule, bio, video at the event as well. It is greatly appreciated with advertising support or these events are possible to have. Thank you so much for your cooperation. Since you have been selected, we need some info on you for a player capsule/bio that will be featured online on our website. MUST provide all your height, weight, stats (very important), honors, college offers and any other details, to the email sportsinkansas@gmail.com below by Thursday before 5pm (12/1/22). We also have a spot for up to four sponsors per player of the year (These are $100-dollar sponsorships each, if you have one that’s fine, if you have two that’s fine, can be as many as four, if there are more let us know and we can figure out ad space).
